Language Arts

ABC Books
To practice initial sounds, have students choose a letter of the alphabet and create a Pixie page that includes a "Cool Letter", stickers that represent words that begin with this letter, and narration about this letter.
  Literature Connections
Have students retell and illustrate stories they have read, or go even further and have them create new endings or even new versions of the same story.

Math

Word Problems
Non-linguistic representations help students visualize abstract concepts. Have students illustrate their own multiplication word problems and stories.
  Counting Books
Inspired by the holiday song, "The Twelve Days of Christmas," have students create pages for a their own class counting book.

Science

Cycles
Have students choose a scientific cycle, such as the butterfly life cycle or water cycle, and illustrate it.
  Nonfiction Text
Have students create their own nonfiction books for plants, animals, or biomes.

Social Studies

Map Skills
Have students create geographic, regional, and economic maps for the state in which they live.
  Important People in Your Neighborhood
Have students create a descriptive site, about a helper in their community to inform others about how the community helpers make a safe and healthy neighborhood.

Artistic Styles
After students learn about an artistic style, have them create their own masterpieces in this style.
